USA Deaf Shooting aims to promote the education and development of deaf youth and adults with an interest in shooting. Through youth training programs and camps, the organization seeks to advance the sport of shooting among deaf indivduals. Primary activties include training in firearm safety, shooting techniques, and the importance of sportsmanship.
The organization also seeks to advance the level of competition and excellence among deaf shooters through its support and educational/training programs. Included among the competitions for which members might train are the Deaflympics and other international or national shooting competitions.

USADS will conduct a training camp in order to select indviduals to represent the USA Deaf Shooting Team, competing at deaf national and international shooting events.
The organization manages development programs at local, state, regional, and national levels; and the ogranization is responsible for training and selecting members who will be competing at the International Deaflympic Games and the European Deaf Shooting Championships, among other tournaments.
This project will help bring together deaf individuals, who live in a visual world and are accustomed to using their eyes. Target shooting gives them an outlet to apply their visual skills and excel.
Through American Sign Language, the instructors can teach deaf patricipants gun safety and skills effectively. A skills assessment tool and satisfaction survey will be conducted upon completion of the camp.
